IMERI held a full-day open house event to celebrated its 2nd years anniversary on July, 30th 2019 with theme: Leading Research and Innovation for Better Healthcare. This event was designed to give opportunity for public community to explore IMERI, it’s research/education clusters, and to meet researchers or experts in IMERI. There were several activities were offered during the full-day open house, such as Scientific Lectures, Parenting Programs, Cluster Tour and Exhibitions and the most interesting activities are two workshops which arrange for senior high school students: ‘a day as Medical Student’ and ‘a day as Scientist’ in IMERI.

The event was started with scientific lectures about challenges, convergence, and innovation in medical education and science. The first speaker on scientific lecture is Beti Ernawati Dewi, S.Si, Ph.D with presentation tittle “Research Collaboration Accelerate The Progress and Quality Value of Innovation in Medical Science.” After that, dr. Diantha Soemantri, MMedEd, Ph.D gave scientific lecture entitle “How Medical Education is Changing: Change of Mindset.”

The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. dr. Aida Rosita Tantri, SpAn-KAR (Chairperson IMERI 2nd Anniversary), Prof. dr. Badriul Hegar, Ph.D., SpA(K) (director of IMERI), and Prof. Dr. dr. H. Ari Fahrial Syam, Sp-PD-KGEH (Dean of FKUI). On the opening speech, director of IMERI delivered IMERI’s research and education activities and achievement in the past 2 years. IMERI 2nd Anniversary Open House opened with cutting the top of Tumpeng by dean FKUI, the director of IMERI, and Academic Health System UI.

After the scientific lectures and opening ceremony, Parenting Programs was held with main topic Enhancing parental engagement in evidence-based child care. The program was aim to give guidance for child optimal growth and development for parents. The speakers of Parenting Programs were dr. Yoga Devaera, SpA(K) with presentation tittle “Complementary feeding behind the scenes: understanding the evidence-based guidelines” and dr. Bernie Endyarni Medise, SpA(K), MPH with presentation tittle “The evidence-based childhood stimulation: developing brain architecture.”

 

At the same time, Workshop: A day as Medical Student and Scientist was held for 180 high school students on some education and research clusters. There were two groups clusters in Workshop: a day as medical scientist, alpha clusters and beta clusters. The activities that students can learn in alpha clusters are Gram Staining, Anthropometry Measurement, DNA Visualization and in beta clusters are Computer Assisted Sperm Analiysis, Exercise for healthy life, Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering. Furthermore, the activities for the students on Workshop: A day as Medical Student are Literacy Information, Scele Training, Open Course, and Skill Training.

 

There were also Cluster Tour and Exhibition in IMERI 2nd Anniversary Open House. 21 clusters that consist of core facilities, research and education cluster exhibit their research and education activities for the visitors.

IMERI 2nd Anniversary Open House was closed with sharing session with the participant of the event and announcement of Instagram photo and Cluster booth contest winner. The winner of cluster booth contest are SIMUBEAR, HNRC, MBPCF, SCTE, and MedEC and for Instagram photo contest are @ayundis, @rifdina, @itsme.marevick, @sports.medicine.fkui and @dhikadr.
