Wellcome Trust Chief Executive, Dr. John-Arne Rottingen and Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) Vietnam Director, Prof. Guy Thwaites visited IMERI FKUI on January 22, 2024. They were accompanied by Wellcome Trust and OUCRU Indonesia officials and welcomed by IMERI FKUI Board of Directors at IMERI Conference Room, IMERI Building 12th floor.
Prior to the meeting, the Wellcome Trust and OUCRU team were also welcomed by Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, Sp.PD-KGEH, MMB as the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia and Prof. dr. Badriul Hegar, PhD, SpA(K) as IMERI FKUI Director.
The meeting started off with presentations from Prof. Guy Thwaites; Prof. J. Kevin Baird, PhD, FASTMH as OUCRU Indonesia Director; Prof. dr. Badriul Hegar, PhD, SpA(K) and Prof. Dr. dr. Budi Wiweko, SpOG(K), MPH as IMERI FKUI Vice Director of Medical Science and Innovation. The topics presented were later discussed further between the attendees, including Mr. Paul Schreier (Wellcome Trust Immediate Past Acting Director), Prof. dr. Diantha Soemantri, MMedEd, PhD (IMERI FKUI Vice Director of Medical Education), Dr. Iqbal Elyazar (OUCRU Indonesia Deputy Director), Assoc. Prof. Raph Hamers (OUCRU Indonesia Senior Clinical Scientist), Dr. Anuraj Shankar (OUCRU Indonesia Senior Scientist) as well as the representatives from IMERI FKUI related clusters and OUCRU Indonesia.
