IMERI FKUI had the chance to host Prof. dr. Jan Knol, a Professor of Intestinal Microbiology of Early Life at the Laboratory of Microbiology Wageningen University to give a lecture entitled “From Research to Clinical Practice on Biotics” on September 4, 2023. The lecture was held at the IMERI Conference Room, IMERI Building 12th floor and online via zoom.
The lecture was commenced with opening remarks delivered by IMERI FKUI Director, Prof. dr. Badriul Hegar, PhD, SpA(K) and dr. Ray Wagiu Basrowi as Danone Indonesia Medical Science Director since Prof. dr. Jan Knol lecture at IMERI was in accordance with his visit to Indonesia as a Senior Director of the Gut Biology & Microbiology Centre of Excellence at Danone Nutricia Research, The Netherlands.
During his lecture, Prof. dr. Jan Knol shared about the impact of c-section on infant gut microbiota especially regarding the role of gut microbiota in early life to support immune fitness and the nutritional strategies to develop healthy gut microbiota in early life along with the clinical evidence of synbiotics in c-section born infants.
The lecture was moderated by Prof. dr. Badriul Hegar, PhD, SpA(K) and was attended by researchers, students, and medical professionals through zoom and offline at IMERI FKUI.
